Automating IPTC Metadata to Insure Copyright Best Practices?

hello,

 

i’m designing workflow first lightroom project 1,000 photos, , i’d automate population of metadata fields as possible. photos used online in commercial manner, i’d follow industry best practices or standards digital copyright protection.

 

i’ve researched online iptc metadata fields, , i’ve learned lot, i’ve been unable locate authoritative source directly states effect:

 

“these minimum iptc metadata fields need populated in order optimize copyright protection. better protection, populate these other fields also.”

 

does know information might located?

you should fill out creator / author field, should contain name of photographer (like yourself, example). should ensure create date correctly filled out, should contain date photo taken (not: scanned etc.). , should fill out copyright field, stating name if you're copyright holder. there's field states if (or if not) image copyrighted , should fill out, too.
