hi

did quite stupid. dual boot windows 7 , ubuntu 12.04. installed older version of ubuntu, 10.10 exact on seperate partition.

problem when boot, grub appears recent one. 1 got after installing 10.10. want delete 10.10 partition fear not able boot computer.

how safely delete partition without loosing grub

hello.

believe ubuntu 12.04 uses grub2.

never had try myself, boot-repair looks should try. if you're booting ubuntu livecd, think should use 12.04 disk if possible believe ubuntu 10.04 uses older/different version of grub.
