Thread: Ethernet and Wireless not working on Acer3680

hi absolutely new ubuntu. decided revive old acer aspire 3680. installation of 12.04 went wireless switch not work , neither ethernet , therefore cannot activate "broadcom sta wireless driver." when try

sorry, installation of driver failed. please have @ log file details: /var/log/jockey.log

when wireless switch , ethernet don’t work, mean ubuntu did not detect , install them?

or talking actual network equipment? (outside of computer)

sorry if stupid question, haven’t heard phrased before, hence confusion.


assuming saying ubuntu did not detect wifi, , ethernet cards...

believe can find driver, , put on flash drive load on computer in question.

think may driver need.

i'm still little new myself.

quite lazy in situations this, , since have plenty of junk laying around...

if ubuntu not detect network card, dig through boxes, , add network cards till 1 works.

software updates 1 in computer working, remove card added.

pretty crude, effective, if have parts laying around.
