Thread: Main Menu (Alacarte) Not Working

i'm running ubuntu 12.10 64-bit , until couple of weeks ago, able run "main menu" (the "alacarte" program) no issues. did install additional programs since then, can't recall are.

when launching alacarte terminal, receive message:

have reinstalled alacarte , gnome-panel via synaptic mananger, nothing working. appreciate assistance this. thanks!

had edit alacarte.desktop file run root. way alacarte function work-around.

interested edited exec line follows: exec=gksudo -k -u root alacarte
