Thread: creating a boot list for Win 7 and Umbutu on separate HDD

so here's situation have desktop (ide/pata) running umbutu 12 , our laptop (sata) craped out os fine (it cpu died.) slapped usb case , plugged desktop.

ide unplugged boots windows know works. ide in boot umbutu , i'm trying find way modify book loader there choice boot 1 or other.

when in ubuntu , sata disk connected, open terminal , run:
sudo update-grub

detect windows , make necessary entry in grub boot menu.
