Thread: Google Earth/ graphics issues
hey all,
pretty new @ ubuntu thing think may have installed non-compatible package... or computer collapsing black hole. feels latter. whole experience ubuntu has been troubleshooting 3 straight days... i'm sure this first of many posts i'm making unfortunately.
system specs:
ubuntu 12.04 x64 (partition)
windows 7 x64 on other side
3rd generation intel(r) core(tm) i7-3610qm processor (2.3 ghz, 6mb l3 cache)
nvidia(r) geforce(r) gt 630m graphics 1gb gddr3 memory [hdmi, vga]
12gb ddr3 system memory (2 dimm)
when launch google earth in terminal error:
xlib: extension "glx" missing on display ":1".

xlib: extension "glx" missing on display ":1".
xlib: extension "glx" missing on display ":1".
#(this repeated 50 times)
google earth has caught signal 11.
apologize inconvenience, google earth has crashed.
bug in program, , should never happen under normal
circumstances. bug report , debugging data have been written

so i'm pretty sure graphics issue. amusingly program working fine yesterday. tried install newest nvidia driver unable figure out how shut down x server.

the system just hangs in limbo , won't allow me type commands no response after stop lightdm.
all of may irrelelvant because i'm eaten hurricane.

well working again. clamped polygons not supported unfortunate because need kmls. apparently have 2 graphics cards, intel ivybridge+ nvidia listed above. running on intel... odd problem.
if knows "clamped polygon" problem solution feel free enlighten me
