Thread: 12.04 LTS - Wired network disconnects after a period of inactivity
hi all.

edit: noticed after loses connectivity remote access samba shares on server don't work , network access (and internet access) server slow. restarting networking doesn't fix problem , have reboot things working again.code:eth0 link encap:ethernet hwaddr 00:60:08:07:69:bc inet addr:192.168.1.248 bcast:192.168.1.255 mask:255.255.255.0 broadcast running multicast mtu:1500 metric:1 rx packets:9799 errors:0 dropped:103 overruns:0 frame:0 tx packets:7675 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 rx bytes:6580700 (6.5 mb) tx bytes:2273726 (2.2 mb) interrupt:16 base address:0xecc0 lo link encap:local loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 mask:255.0.0.0 loopback running mtu:16436 metric:1 rx packets:100 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 tx packets:100 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 rx bytes:6416 (6.4 kb) tx bytes:6416 (6.4 kb) virbr0 link encap:ethernet hwaddr 26:05:d5:4b:9b:da inet addr:192.168.122.1 bcast:192.168.122.255 mask:255.255.255.0 broadcast multicast mtu:1500 metric:1 rx packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 tx packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 rx bytes:0 (0.0 b) tx bytes:0 (0.0 b)
on how fix appreciated thanks.
although may not related, kind of virtual machine using? , make difference if disable virtual network test?
have tried -
or,code:sudo ifconfig eth0 down sudo ifconfig eth0 up
also, please clarify part of post -code:sudo modprobe -rfv 3c59x sudo modprobe -v 3c59xseems confusing.. disconnected, or gets slow? think it'll better if give full setup , connection details pertaining server.also noticed after loses connectivity remote access samba shares on server don't work , network access (and internet access) server very slow.
