Need help converting BibleWorks Hebrew font to Unicode

greetings indesign scholars!

 

    busy converting print version of book e-book format. difficulty having has way adobe indesign handles right-to-left fonts. book on working contains lot of hebrew because intensive word-study of hebrew bible.

 

   when indesign document first created word document, adobe took of right-to-left hebrew characters , flipped them around backwards. mess! employer tells me solution manually go through book , change every charater bwhebb, bibleworks font. yikes! not a unicode font, when export xml file indesign make e-book, of hebrew letters come out garbled roman letters , symbols. i'm trying find macro let me convert unicode font can change things export file without inverting letters.

yes, , ugh. have been fine solution in 1994, today there no reason whatsoever use legacy non-unicode text encodings languages hebrew. i've never used bibleworks myself, it's stuff face on daily basis - many people learned how key non-latin scripts in 90s reluctant give legacy-encoding fonts, after few years of hassling lao , cambodian translators, give in , write text conversion scripts them (or custom keyboards let them key in preferred keyboard layout yet generate unicode text).

 

i did bit of digging around you, , found there word macros written handle bibleworks -> unicode conversion you. doubt every single 1 of these steps work you, in shoes i'd

 

1) export perfectly-styled text indesign rtf (or go , source word doc)

2) open rtf in word

3) use word macro convert text bibleworks unicode (link youtube showing particulars including .exe download supposed conversion you)

4) place rtf indesign , clear overrides (or re-place word doc , re-format)

 

if book isn't styled won't work you. javascript developed use in indesign, , if fast scripter i'd hammer out you. abysmally slow scripter, or i'd hammering away instead of posting. seems doable me - if had tables showing biblescript encoding might able copy , paste scripts converting similar old fonts unicode.
