Getting a "film" look

this more of aesthetics question.  

 

i've noticed that, sometimes, video productions have been made "grainy" shot on film.   idea how can achieved?

there can many components referred "film look."

 

from description, suggest starting available effects in pre, there many, starting "old film looks."

 

let know if have questions on doing perhaps more.
