Thread: Cannot boot after fresh install of 12.10
hi,
did fresh install of 12.10 cannot boot now. tried boot-repair couple of time without success.
bios, tried booting both "ubuntu" , "wd ..." (my primary hdd) both give me black screen cursor.
current state of installation given boot-repair here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/1358166/
last time ran boot-repair installed grub install devices into:
/dev/sda
/dev/sdc
last output on command line:

it looks sdc has uefi install gpt partitioning? other drives mbr.
sdc ssd , system uefi?
want uefi/gpt way boot or old bios/mbr method?
if installing ubuntu ssd, can install in bios mode gpt partitioning have have small 1mb unformatted bios_grub partition. if uefi have have efi partition first , gpt partitioning.
gpt partitioning recommended ssds , required drives on 2tb.

there reason lvm on 60gb drive?

unless re-arranging partitions lot, lvm not offer advantage & adds level of complexity. backups become more important.
