Thread: Why does my program require sudo to run?

i made simple application in qt, read text text box , transfer text box.

want run clicking on it, upon finding out not work, went command line run find out needed sudo... how can make applications run? more importantly, how can make applications run clicking on them(kind of how gui applications started in windows)?

since nobody has answered yet, i'll try:

check owner of app , permissions:
if remember correctly, on ubuntu running gnome: mouse, right-click application , select 'properties'. select 'permissions' tab. click 'it's executable' box. make sure owner (not root). if root owner you'll have use sudo or root change it. see chown , chgrp commands.
