Thread: installation problems
hi, tried first-time install of 12.04 64-bit (brand new hardware, no os, clean formatted drive) mixed success. couldn't make sense of various guides how set partitioning, references guided vs. manual partitioning not matching installation options presented, went default assumed same guided.
installed usb stick had been set in windows.
installation completed successfully, @ point prompted reboot. think screwed there removing usb stick, figuring necessary rebooting without trying reinstall. did so, kicked me out command line-like screen (i didn't make note of said) no options type anything. turn computer off @ point. can't boot or without usb stick. (i can bios/setup, though.)
idea how proceed? don't mind reinstalling ubuntu if can initial setup screen. if go route, how navigate partitioning screens newbie appreciated. never presented resembling guided options described here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/instal...e-details.html
p.s. there font need install make these forums more legible? show me small, cramped, non-anti-aliased font. i've never seen anywhere else.
i able load ubuntu boot menu, specifying usb stick, haven't figured out way reinstall yet. good:

still can't find in installation matches descriptions. manually running installation iso usb stick doesn't work, either.
