Thread: Unity 2d like light interface in ubuntu 12.10

hello,

i've upgraded ubuntu 12.04 12.10 in amd, radeon hd 3100 graphics card desktop. i'm on 32 bit ubuntu installation.

know unity2d not there, i've read there lighter mode in unity, automatically activated.

after solving ati driver hell using ppa:makson96/fglrx, still have worst

1) there way have lighter unity. because now, literally unusable. love unity features , used them, can't stand laggyness. tried suggestion, adding

export unity_low_gfx_mode=1

file: /etc/x11/xsession.d/99force-llvm . don't see change.

2) if bought pci graphics card, solve problems? there suggestions card?
