Thread: Rails: Can It Be Done?

hello everyone,

i've installed ubuntu server 12.04 lts first time, , it's first experience linux. part, i'm enjoying it! however, i'm having lots of trouble getting ruby on rails installed. i've tried things like:

sudo apt-get install rails

which results in:

e: unable locate package rails

i've looked in many places on internet , have tried installing via gems, rake, i've tried yum hell of it, , nothing works.

and, i've done:

sudo apt-get update

which returns:

p.s. output got

sudo apt-get update

is expect - fetch new package list every repository - , output list of repositories got package lists from.
