Thread: partition sizing
i reinstalling ubuntu 12.04 64bit root partition small. i'll use android compiling. i'm going 2 partitions; root , /home. how 15gb root sound?
i've had 12.04 64bit going since april. / partition 18gb, , i'm using 7gb of it. have /home partition well. i'm fortunate enough have ssd drive though 256gb. so, in humble opinion (imho ) i'm wasting more 10gb of space in / partition. if going redo, i'd have / partition of 10gb.
said, short of having massive music/video collection, can't imagine ever filling drive while i'm using linux. unlike windows, there's not lot of hugely bloated code (software) out there linux. suppose it's call obviously, , we're different kinds of users. can't imagine ever having / partition reach 10gb, less 15gb.
thanks,
jed
