Thread: Transferring from Windows to Linux as a programmer

so i've made move ubuntu windows.
until going quite well, still feel if don't know os enough feel comfortable it. instance, don't know of linux commands such sudo, apt, etc (not in depth atleast) , how use them without using guide.
i'm computer science college student, i've done c,c++ programming, , have done bash (meaning know how write proper script).
can guys recommend me i'll know system better , know how use it?
reading material, websites, or comes mind great.

you named few commands , said didn't know mean. on linux system, command should come man page. man in manual. can @ them via terminal.

usage is

code:

man <command>

so

code:

man man

will 1 man function itself,

code:

man sudo

will tell sudo function, and

code:

man apt

will tell apt is.

while @ it, @

code:

man apt-get

to find out how install via apt.

comp science student, should learn how decipher man pages. bit confusing @ first, find way around.
