Thread: Linux is too Good?

i'm running arch xfce on netbook addition gb ram. absolutely flies , see no point upgrading time soon. wouldn't hard works oem make system , clone it. part of me thinks don't because cut profits significantly. first woudn't sell many higher end machines , secondly people upgrade often. crazy thinking it's in oems best interest keep computers getting slower , slower on current hardware?

no - you're not crazy! i'm sure windows software has been designed slow in time (pagefile/registry bloat, disk fragmentation, heavy applications, etc.). there trend more , more graphical capability, big area of software progression - needing more hardware.
use ubuntu on old machines - current laptop 4 years old , still runs quick. i've got servers ten years old too. why change?!
