Banding in Blurry Texture


hey all,

 

i'm having issue banding on of blurry textures(cs6, win7,). layer in question desturated hard light blend mode. doc isrgb, 8bit. here's screen:

here's i've tried fix this, no avail:

- applied surface , gaussian blurs- creates larger bands, doesn't smooth them expected

- changed 16bit, bands closer together, still there

- switched blend modes

- switched between each of 3 drawing modes in prefs(set normal currently)

- applied noise layer, multiple surface blurs, gets me little closer destroys original image

bands occur when value of 1 of rgb channels differs 1. 

 

8-bits has 256 colors per channel.

 

16-bits has 65536 or perhaps 32768 colors per channel.

 

your monitor closer 8 16.

 

the banding within document, itself, either in color channel, or in mask or blending function, or in display system , profile, depending on how many bits being sent display.

 

you screenshot jpg has been compressed may not show bands original screen capture. posting png avoid problem. 

 

starting 16-bit prophotorgb working space allow widest range of colors within document, display may or may not able show things resolution of colors, , maybe hard-light blending function still using 8-bits.

 

are bands not there before set hard light?
