Adobe Reader will not install to my IMac OSX 100.7.5

when have program open , want download pdf file when message install adobe reader in order print pdf, when try download reader either goes through install action , says downloaded or tells me adobe reader installed.  message doesn't matter because not downloaded , installed.  thing find in finder download section adobe reader install download.  have tried many times.  when first got mac downloaded adobe flash player no problem.  suggestions?
